Amazon Plan of Action Sample: Full Example You Can Adapt
A generic sample rarely helps because Amazon’s reviewers can tell when language is copy-pasted. What actually helps is seeing the structure a working Plan of Action follows, so you can build your own with your case’s real facts. Below is a full sample for an inauthentic complaint — one of the most common Section 3 triggers.
Sample Plan of Action: Inauthentic Complaint
Root Cause
“On [date], we received a customer complaint regarding ASIN [XXXXXXXXX], alleging the product received was not authentic. Upon investigation, we identified that the unit in question was sourced from [supplier name] on [purchase date], and a documentation gap meant we could not immediately verify chain of custody back to the brand owner. This was an isolated sourcing and recordkeeping issue affecting 1 of 340 units sold in this listing over the past 90 days.”
Corrective Action
“We removed the affected ASIN from sale on [date], pending full supply chain verification. We contacted [supplier name] and obtained [invoice / authorization letter / supplier agreement] confirming the authenticity and origin of all remaining inventory. We also issued a refund to the affected customer and reviewed our remaining inventory from this supplier against the same documentation standard.”
Preventive Measures
“Going forward, we require signed supplier authorization letters and traceable invoices for every new supplier before listing their products. We have implemented a supplier documentation checklist that must be completed and archived before any new ASIN goes live, and we conduct quarterly audits of existing supplier documentation to confirm it remains current.”
Why This Sample Works
- Specific ASIN, dates, and quantities — not “some of our products”
- Names the actual documents obtained — invoice, authorization letter, supplier agreement
- Scopes the problem — “1 of 340 units” shows this wasn’t systemic
- Preventive measures are a process, not a promise — a checklist and quarterly audit are things Amazon can verify exist
Adapting This Sample to Your Case
Replace every bracketed detail with your actual facts. If your violation is different — related account, dropshipping, IP complaint, KYC failure — the three-part structure stays the same, but the specific evidence and language change completely. A related-account POA needs to prove entity separation; an IP complaint POA needs a retraction or licensing proof. Using this exact template for the wrong violation type is one of the most common reasons appeals get rejected.
If you’re not sure which category your notice falls under, that’s the first thing to get right before writing anything.
